MovieWorks 56 features five of our Newton Series MC50 satellites and our BassCube 6S passive subwoofer. Although very compact, the MC50 satellite speaker'scabinet is slightly larger than our previous satellite speaker designs. By combining this larger cabinet design with a new smaller (but more powerful) Neodymium-magnet motor structure, we have dramatically increased the air space inside the speaker cabinetand more air space means flatter, deeper frequency response and better sound. Thanks to a new, larger 3 1/2-inch driver and a four-element EQ network built into each satellite, MC50 speakers range from as high as 16kHz and down below 150Hz, covering the mid- and high-end of the frequency range beautifully and evenly right down to where the BassCube 6S can take over. The BassCube 6S- a 6 1/2"" passive (non-amplified) bandpass subwoofer- produces strong, accurate bass with very little amplifier power. Don't let its small size fool you, the BassCube 6S provides a great ""punch."" It employs a passive radiating woofer in a downward firing design. Because it is passive, placement of the woofer will affect its bass response. Place it in a corner for maximum reflective bass from the walls and floor. And since bass is non-directional, you can even place the compact BassCube 6S under or behind a piece of furniture, making it virtually invisible.
